He should have thought twice before saying that…
Back in 2011, Georgia Senate Democrat candidate Raphael Warnock had said that he did not believe that Americans could serve God as well as be in the military.
Warnock said, “America, nobody, can serve God and the military. You can’t serve God and money. You cannot serve God and Mammon at the same time.”
Obviously Warnock’s statement did not sit well with many and Kenneth E. Brandt, a former U.S. Army National Guard, stated, “If he’s saying you cannot be in the military and be a Christian, I will take issue with that.”
I’ve met some great people in the military, young men and women in the country who have raised their right hand and took an oath to defend this country against all enemies foreign and domestic. They have a deep belief, whether it’s in God or a higher power, whatever you want to call it.
“It just makes no sense to me how you can say that, especially if you’re running in Georgia.”
Warnock’s past is ultimately going to be his downfall in trying to become a senator.
